Great Vic Bike Ride 2019 – Day 8 | Peterborough – Beech Forest (81 kilometres)

David Meego - Click for blog homepageAs mentioned on my article Great Vic Bike Ride 2019 – Where is David? He is riding the Great Ocean Road, my wife Jennifer and I are off on an adventure cycling with 5,000 other like minded people across the beautiful south coast of Australia.

Jennifer will be riding a road bike tandem as pilot along with our vision impaired friend Meredith as stoker, and I will be supporting them as domestique on my single bike.

Below is an excerpt from the ride page located here for today’s section:

Keep the camera handy, as today we’ll pedal past the famous London Bridge, the blowhole, 12 Apostles and Gibsons Steps.

Remember to pace yourself throughout the day and get ready to tackle the formidable Lavers Hill. Once you’ve conquered the climb, recharge and reward yourself with a custard tart from the general store. From there you’ll have one last little climb to reach Beech Forrest through the beautiful Otways.

If your legs are itching for more once you’ve arrived in Beech Forest, you can have a crack at the Old Beechy Rail Trail by bike, explore the Otways by foot or alternatively just kick back for the afternoon at Beech Forest Pub.

Enjoy (the natural beauty of this coastline)

David
