Winthrop Development Consultants has already updated its products for this Microsoft Dynamics GP 18.5 – October 2022 release. They are now built against the final build and so are no longer beta builds.

This Friday, I will start my flights to the USA to get to Community Summit 2022 in Orlando. I will be flying to Singapore first and then getting on the world’s longest flight: Singapore Airlines from Singapore to New York with a flight time of 18 hours and 25 minutes.
For the first week I will be staying at the Caribe Royale hotel while I am running a 5-day Dexterity Fundamentals Bootcamp training course. Then during the Community Summit 2022 Conference being held on October 10-13, 2022, I will be at the Gaylord Palms Resort, Kissimmee, Orlando, Florida, USA.

David Musgrave MVP is coming to Community Summit 2022 in Orlando and will be running two training courses for GP users, administrators, consultants and developers.
The first is a 5 day Dexterity bootcamp, before the conference, which will teach you how to get started with Dexterity, the development tool used to create Microsoft Dynamics GP.
The second is a single day class on GP Power Tools, covering all modules of the product.

I am pleased to announce that as well as the Dexterity Training there will be GP Power Tools training offered by the GPUG Academy during the Academy days before Community Summit in Orlando, Florida, USA.
The training will be presented as a single full day course on Monday 10th October 2022, running from 8:00am to 5:00pm with lunch included.
We have lots of new functionality and enhancements to cover with the release of Build 29 of GP Power Tools recently.
As part of my marketing strategy for the last six months, I have been working with Dynamics Connections to promote my products to the Microsoft Dynamics GP partner channel.
GP Power Tools is a very easy product to sell. You just need to show the Benefits Presentation to a customer and they will want it on their system. So the aim is to get the partners to show this short presentation to their customers.
I have found that using Carol Livingston and the team at Dynamics Connections has been a worthwhile investment with an increased awareness of our products amongst the partners after her presentations.
I have had quite a few requests for Dexterity Training recently. So once I decided to go to Community Summit in Orlando, Florida, USA in October, I planned to run a 5 day Dexterity Fundamentals Bootcamp in the week beforehand. Dexterity is the development environment that Microsoft Dynamics GP is built on and the best tool to use for any customization to the user interface of the product. Knowledge of Dexterity is vital for anyone customizing Dynamics GP even when using other development tools such as GP Power Tools – Developer Tools module, Visual Studio Tools (C# or VB .Net) or “End of Life” VBA (Visual Basic for Application).

GP Power Tools incorporates a feedback survey which it will prompt an administrator user 30 days after a new installation or 2 days after an updated installation.
The history behind the survey goes back to the Support Debugging Tool days. The SDT did not have any registration system and downloads were not being tracked, so it was an attempt to get usage data and product feedback to help justify the continued development of the tool.
Anyhow, one of the questions asks for a score between 1 and 9 for Documentation and a number of respondents have given a low score over the years.
In May, nine well known Microsoft Dynamics GP ISVs (Independent Software Vendors) will helping the GP Community to keep learning during this time of pandemic and working from home.

You might have seen my posts on Twitter and Facebook recently about my new toy mini laptop PC, the crowd funded GPD Pocket 2.
I have been burnt before with crowd funded projects (I supported 3 smartwatches and only one make it to production and it under-delivered 😦 ), so I was wary of getting involved again. However, this was the second generation of the GPD Pocket and demo devices had already been delivered to a number of YouTube reviewers. I felt fairly safe to get involved with crowd funding again, as this would give me a discount and get the device earlier.
