David Meego - Click for blog homepageMicrosoft have done many great things over the years but have also made some bad (maybe awful) decisions in my opinion. This includes discontinuing Zune and Windows Phone and Xbox Kinect as well as the addition of Clippy to Office or the removal of the Start Menu in Windows 8.

However, the latest change that I am less than impressed by is the changing of the default Office font (technically Typeface) from Calibri to Aptos. This article explains how to restore Calibri as the default in Microsoft Outlook.

#MSDynGP Surveys on the Future of Microsoft Dynamics GP

David Meego - Click for blog homepageIn April 2023, Microsoft announced that Microsoft Dynamics GP will not be available for sale to new customers after April 2026. While the announcement has very little effect on the existing customers, there have been lots of discussions on the future of Microsoft Dynamics GP and its client base.

Microsoft has indicated that they will be supporting the product to 2028 & Beyond. That “& Beyond” clause will be very dependent on what the existing customers using GP do. If the existing customer base continues to use GP and pay their annual enhancement fees, Microsoft’s management will be able to justify continued support beyond 2028 due to the income stream.

PSA: Fake Friend Requests – Have you been Hacked?

David Meego - Click for blog homepageThis Public Service Announcement comes about after I received or saw messages from three Facebook Friends in the last week that they have been “Hacked” because someone was sending out Fake Friend Requests pretending to be them.

While Fake Friend Requests are definitely a problem and need to be dealt with correctly, they are not an indication that you have been hacked or that your account and passwords have been compromised in any way.
