#GPPT GP Power Tools build 26 released

David Meego - Click for blog homepageWinthrop Development Consultants is pleased to announce Build 26 of GP Power Tools (GPPT) for Microsoft Dynamics GP was released on 12-Feb-2019.

This build incorporates many new features and enhancements to all modules of GP Power Tools. It also includes a number of code improvements and fixes to improve existing functionality.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: To ensure continued registration after 01-Jul-2018, please update all workstations to Build 24 or later before the current subscription expires. Install over the top of the existing build, no need to uninstall first. You can also copy the updated files from one install to other installs.

Build 26 of GP Power Tools is available for the following Microsoft Dynamics GP versions:

  • Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 (v11.0)
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 and GP 2013 R2 (v12.0)
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 and GP 2015 R2 (v14.0)
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 and GP 2016 R2 (v16.0)
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP 2018 and GP 2018 R2 (v18.0)

Updates to Registration and Update Check Systems

There has been some further fine tuning of the Registration system to standardize formatting of contact and address details, including changing the country field to a drop down list selection.

Also the About window has been updated for better web client compatibility and the un-install process has been simplified.

System Module Enhancements

Changes to the System Module of GP Power Tools include the following:

The Find a Window and Raise All Windows options are now available from the Tools menu on every window.

ScreenShot’s System Status report now includes Modules Registered as well as a list of Customizations (as per Customization Maintenance) and a list of installed Visual Studio Addin DLLs.

ScreenShot’s System Status report now includes the maximum users allowed in the system and identifies when Microsoft Dynamics GP is running on a Terminal Server.

Send Email window now has word wrap enabled.

Administrator Tools Module Enhancements

Changes to the Administrator Tools Module of GP Power Tools include the following:

Many features in Administrator Settings can now be controlled on a user and/or company basis.

Dex.ini Configuration can now open a Dex.ini settings file editor.

New Feature: User Setup Additional Information can now be stored against a User including email address and six user defined fields.

Company Login Filter now supports custom user defined order for companies on the login window.

Window Position Memory now supports disabling Window Position Check for specific windows.

New Feature: Automatic Logout can log out inactive users and has many configurable options.

New Feature: User Activity Log can track user logins.

New Feature: User Activity Log Maximum Users tracks daily maximum session counts.

New Feature: Login Limits can control how many sessions a user can log into.

Developer Tools Module Enhancements

Changes to the Developer Tools Module of GP Power Tools include the following:

Runtime Execute, SQL Execute and .Net Execute can now control the users and/or companies a script is published to.

SQL Execute will now remember the database selection when running scripts against all databases.

Runtime Execute can now generate pass-through Dexterity sanScript for Visual C# and Visual Basic .Net including handling of parameters from an associated Parameter List.

Parameters in Parameter Lists can now be hidden to allow parameter substitution for data populated by code rather than the user.

Project Setup can now stop all triggers and has an Add button for adding new components to a project.

Runtime Execute Setup and Trigger Setup windows can now open full Dexterity help file from the script editor.

Database Tools Module Enhancements

Changes to the Database Tools Module of GP Power Tools include the following:

Support for GP 2018 R2’s 21 character password in Database Validation.

Enhanced check for possible data loss in Database Validation now actually checks maximum length of source data.

Database Validation now has Email Settings window to define wording for password reset notification emails.

Database Validation’s Password Reset functionality can now email the temporary password to users.

Other Enhancements
